Mixed Media and Embroidery
Memories and life experiences are woven into the fabric of my work through drawing, painting, and collage. I love colour and like to work in layers. I take inspiration from fine art practice through the symbolism of motif, and develop my ideas using a combination of computerised, embroidery, free machine embroidery, and occasionally, traditional stitches to support the work’s main theme.
I spent 20 years in adult education teaching watercolour painting, experimental art techniques, design development and textile design.
With my associate, Teresa Jones we form Connect-2, offering textile workshops and talks to Guilds and groups on a variety of topics connected to our work.
