Textile21 Workshops for Odyssey

Norma Hopkins

My talks reveal a progression from an initial idea to the story behind the work. Each power point presentation is illustrated by examples of art work and finished pieces which demonstrate  my development as a textile artist. Workshops are run with Terri Jones and cover a wide range of embroidery and design techniques. They are sometimes arranged at their base in Altrincham, Cheshire, but can also be brought to your meeting place and designed especially for your group’s particular interests.

Stitchworks Creative Textile Arts Workshops

I am an experienced qualified teacher, offering creative textiles short courses, classes and talks.

I offer workshops on a wide range of topics, including Creative Surface Decoration, Sparkling Surfaces for Stitch, Kitchen Cupboard Mark Making, Faux Pieced Fabric, Mindful Stitch, and Fabric Painting and Collage.  In my classes I aim to share the joy I get from working with colour, fabric and stitch.  I want people to come away from my sessions excited about what they are going to create next.

I have the City and Guilds Diploma in Patchwork and Quilting, and also teach and give talks to groups on traditional and modern patchwork and quilting.

My workshops can be tailored to the needs of the group or individual, with special care taken to make sessions as inclusive and accessible as possible.

Nikki Parmenter

Nikki offers a range of talks, workshops and demonstrations to students, groups and societies. She discusses the development of her practice from paper to wood, then on to mixed media and textiles. Each talk lasts for an hour and focuses on influences, development of ideas and use of materials. The talks can be arranged as Zoom meetings if appropriate.

Day long workshop sessions allow participants to learn how to make bonded fabrics and transform them into various natural forms. You will experiment with different techniques and processes including entrapment, upcycling, free machine embroidering and embellishing. You will complete a piece during the day.

Susan Syddall

I teach art and craft to adults, offering a wide range of activities for clients with a huge variety of needs. Due to the Covid virus face to face lessons had to be cancelled. In response to this I have produced short, instructive, ability appropriate workshop films, for clients to use in their own environment. These art projects can be used by groups or individuals, with support dependent on needs.
