Anna Owen
I am an artist living and working in the North West of England.
I am interested in exploring the dichotomies of lived experience; the cognitive dissonance found in the contrasts of life. My work uses layers of dye and print, mark making and stitch to create complex works rich in colour and texture. My work celebrates the haptic qualities of textiles.
My work allows me to process ideas, to express feelings and energies and to engage with others. I have recently been interested in the tension created by barriers and borders, protection and confinement, which led to the works in the “Boundaries” series.
