Contemporary Machine Embroidery

My work is based mainly on and inspired by, my photographs of nature and the built environment.

However, recent work has also gone deeper to include memories and family history.

Drawing and the manipulation of my photographs are the foundation of my work followed by exploratory artwork before committing ideas to fabric.

Recent pieces have expressed ideas through the use of print, fabric layering, dyeing and other fabric colouring techniques.

Machine embroidery is the speciality of my work which consists mainly of wall hangings.
